Expand your network!

Clubhouse! OMG! I need to moderate several rooms very soon! Want to be a moderator/ panelist with me? Yes, this is an open-invite to anyone in my whole network. Now, it might take a little time to get good at "running a clubhouse room," so I realize I/ we should practice soon. Wanna do a short-term trial-run, and be my fellow moderator/ panelist, for a string of 3 - 5 clubhouse rooms? We would just need to have a topic we can both speak to ... so, what could you speak intelligently about? See, if you haven't tried clubhouse yet, it's audio-only, and it's organized into hundreds of different "rooms," or conversations. You and I could be the moderators/ panelists/ experts who control the room, meaning we direct the discussion, and we allow visitors (who "raise their hand" in the app) ... to speak/ contribute/ ask questions. It's fun, easy, and you can really blow up your Instagram following. Yes, my friend spoke in a clubhouse room, and then got 400 instagram followers in one day! Join me now! Ok, so what can we talk about? I could talk about any of these topics: finding your life purpose; spirituality; getting in alignment with the universe; positive thinking; crushing fear and going after your dreams; meditation; how to overcome alcoholism; how to write a book; getting published/ understanding the publishing industry; mental focus + improved ways of thinking + living. I would also be happy to talk about parenting, the vaping epidemic, and subjects connected to Black studies, and African American history. For example, I want to see major criminal justice reform. Wanna collaborate? If so ... send me a dm, or email to adamchiocca@gmail.com ...ok? Thx, ~ Adam Chiocca ~ [book tour post, day 29, 1/29/21]

I'm happy to say that this year was my best yet. Combined with having more time to plan and prep for great units and lessons (now being post-Master's time), and with all the new knowledge and skills I learned from my M.A.T., it was a great year! You know... having those 4 years of teaching experience before doing my M.A.T., also, I think, really helped me to grow as an educator. We did some really exciting units this year. For example, building on some lessons I found in some Adult-ESL texts, I created a 3-week unit titled "Helping Your Family to Buy a Home!" Yes - so, we made "dream homes" out of cardboard boxes and materials. Students learned "Mr. Chiocca's 11 Steps to Buying a Home," and they made YouTube videos and Audio Recordings for the Final Project. The kids learned about mortgages, down payments, PITI - Principal, Interest, Taxes and Insurance; and how to work with real estate agents and brokers. In addition, students learned ...

Doesn't a blog only make sense when others will read it?

Hi, Is anyone reading this...? Really...? (crickets...) You see... I don't mean to sound so lame, but I'm torn. I feel like I'm supposed to contribute to the educational blogosphere, and yet I have three followers. Please... cue giggle (Yes, I want you to smile and giggle). I had these ideal thoughts about what it may be like to blog and learn from others online, and yet - I feel quite unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Yes, there must be 2 billion blogs out there, and everyone is pretty busy with life, so should I continue to blog? Please - somebody leave a comment...! And say, Yes, Mr. Chiocca, please contribute. Education and the future of public education depends on people like you, who care and want our kids to learn as much as they can in each grade level. Thanks for reading! Mr. Chiocca

My first clubhouse room!

I'm officially a moderator on Clubhouse! Yay! Have you gotten on the app?  It's still new, and in development, so it's only available on Apple iPhones, and iPads, etc.  It's still "invite only" and they did this on purpose, but I don't think it was meant to be exclusive, like a private club, rather because they are still in the "Beta" phase of growing, and developing, and didn't want to have millions join too fast, and thus overload the system.  Once you're on it, they you realize the value of it.  It's cool how the conversations in these "rooms" are generally based around a specific niche idea/ industry/ topic/ question.  There are rooms with thousands of listeners, and then there are smaller rooms which allow you to make new friends, and to be "brought up onto the stage," to speak.  It's audio only, and only Twitter and Instagram are linked in your profile, so it seems pretty clean and neat.  I like how there...
